Hours of work are: Monday - Thursday: 7:00 - 17:00 & Friday: 7:00 - 13:00, 30 minute unpaid lunch each day

Our Commercial & Industrial division designs, fabricates and constructs structural steelwork for a variety of different sectors including commercial offices, stadia & leisure, industrial & distribution, data centres, retail and health and education.



The division has manufacturing sites in three locations: Dalton, Lostock, and Enniskillen. Each has full-service capabilities and modern manufacturing processes enabling us to provide a high-quality product to a variety of different sectors. Each of our sites has its own strong reputation in the market and between them cover a wider geographical area, including Europe. They continue to set the

in their highly complex market!

Vacancy Details



As a Construction Stores Person, you'll be responsible for managing the tools, materials, and equipment that keep our construction sites running efficiently. You'll ensure inventory is accurately recorded, safely stored, and readily available, playing a key role in supporting ongoing site activities and maintaining productivity.

Key Responsibilities




Raise purchase orders and allocate stock to personnel. Coordinate deliveries with suppliers and manage booking-in procedures. Maintain accurate records of all issued materials, tools, and equipment. Update inventory management systems and carry out regular stock audits. Conduct equipment inspections to ensure compliance and tethering standards are met. Arrange repairs for damaged tools and ensure prompt return to site personnel. Perform Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on electrical equipment and record test dates/expiries. Manage inventory levels using reorder thresholds and FIFO methods. Maintain a clean, well-organised, secure, and clearly labelled stores area.

Essential Skills & Experience




Proven experience in stock control within warehouse, stores, or stockroom environments. Good basic literacy and numeracy (typically GCSE level). Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Clear communication skills, both written and verbal. IT skills, with confidence using inventory or ERP systems.

Desirable




Experience in construction, engineering, or materials supply environments. Familiarity with INSPHIRE or similar stock systems. PAT testing experience (training can be provided).
