About the Role:

We're seeking an experienced

Construction Superintendent

to oversee day-to-day site activities on a major manufacturing site project, ensuring all construction work is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

This role is acting as the client's on-site representative - ensuring contractors deliver in line with design intent, safety requirements, and agreed schedules. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in complex industrial or manufacturing construction and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders with professionalism and precision.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the client's site representative, overseeing contractor and subcontractor performance to ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and quality standards. Coordinate daily site operations and monitor progress against the construction schedule, identifying and resolving issues proactively. Maintain strong communication between client teams, contractors, engineers, and design consultants to ensure alignment on project objectives. Review and verify contractor method statements, risk assessments, and permits to ensure full compliance with site safety and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings, providing clear reporting on status, issues, and risk mitigation measures. Support the Project Manager with documentation, reporting, and progress tracking to maintain visibility of timelines, budgets, and deliverables. Ensure all construction activities are carried out safely, with a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental performance. Champion best practices in quality control and continuous improvement, ensuring work meets or exceeds client expectations. Assist with commissioning, testing, and project close-out phases, ensuring a smooth handover to operational teams.
Skills and Experience:

Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent, Site Manager, or similar, ideally within industrial or manufacturing construction projects. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, M&E systems, and complex industrial building environments. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills -- able to represent the consultancy professionally and maintain strong client relationships. Deep knowledge of UK construction standards, health & safety regulations, and CDM requirements. Experience monitoring multiple trade contractors simultaneously and ensuring delivery to schedule. Strong reporting and documentation skills, with attention to accuracy and detail. Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera, or other scheduling tools, and comfort using digital site management systems is advantageous.
