Construction Technician (Carpentry)
Location: East London
Salary: 20 - 25 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Construction Technician (Carpentry) to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting teaching, learning, and assessment within our construction workshops, ensuring learners gain hands-on experience and develop high-quality carpentry skills.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare, set up, and maintain carpentry workshop areas, tools, and equipment.
Support tutors and assessors in delivering practical carpentry sessions.
Supervise and guide learners during workshop activities, ensuring safe working practices.
Maintain and monitor stock, materials, and consumables, ensuring availability for classes.
Carry out routine maintenance and repairs of tools, machinery, and facilities.
Promote and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures at all times.
Provide technical advice and demonstrate correct use of tools and materials.
Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

About You

NVQ Level 2/3 (or equivalent) in Carpentry & Joinery (essential).
Recent or relevant industry experience within the carpentry/construction sector.
Knowledge of workshop tools, equipment, and safe operating procedures.
Strong practical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
A commitment to promoting safe, effective, and inclusive learning.
