The successful candidate will join a friendly, dynamic consultant team who strive to be regional leaders in the delivery of high quality, compassionate, patient-centred, multi-disciplinary care in EDM, including teaching, training, and research. The successful candidate would be contributing to both EDM in-patients' and outpatients' activities.EDM department at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital is dedicated to delivering comprehensive diabetes and endocrinology services locally and regionally, including pancreas and islet transplant, neuropathy, MODY, tier 3 weight management and sub-specialist endocrine services with close links and access to specialist services at QEH. Sub-speciality interests are encouraged but not required for these posts.A full range of associated healthcare professionals are on site in a purpose-built Diabetes Centre, including dietitian, podiatrists, diabetes specialist nurses, and endocrine specialist nurses, supporting MDT working pattern. The post holder will be expected to engage with the multidisciplinary team and will have the opportunity to take part in one of the sub-specialist clinics or to develop a subspecialty interest of their own.CompanyUniversity Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) is one of the largest teaching hospital trusts in England, serving a regional, national and international population.It includes Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Solihull Hospital and Community Services, Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield and Birmingham Chest Clinic.
