Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Endocrinology with G(I)M at Addenbrookes Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The Clinical Endocrinology service has recently had a phase of significant expansion, and this post offers an exciting opportunity to consolidate and further develop Specialist Endocrinology in Cambridge.
The postholder will play a significant role in the development and expansion of our nationally and internationally recognised thyroid service and the appointee will have the opportunity to contribute to other areas of endocrine practice including outpatient and inpatient endocrine practice.
The appointee will be expected to contribute to in-patient duties, which includes some general medical patients, but not to the general medical on-call rota.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be able to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of endocrine disorders and will be involved in teaching and training of junior staff, medical students and other healthcare professionals.
You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Diabetes and Endocrinology or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013).
