Join a dynamic and ambitious team, dedicated to delivering exceptional gynaecological oncology services. We are an acute Trust with two district general hospitals, providing secondary and tertiary gynaecological cancer services to a population of 1.4 million. The team, primarily based at Cheltenham General, outpatient clinics are also held at Gloucestershire Royal, Worcester Royal and Hereford County Hospital.
As part of our established team of four Consultants, you will work alongside three subspecialty accredited Gynaecological Oncologists and one Consultant Gynaecologist who also serves as the Cancer and Colposcopy Lead. You will have the support of four highly experienced Consultants, as well as dedicated support staff, ensuring a collaborative, supportive working environment.
With opportunities to travel and run an independent practice, you will be able to enhance your skills and expertise. Our location alongside urology and colorectal services at a site focused on elective care, means you will benefit from seamless DCC access.
1. Clinical Responsibilities/Key Responsibilities
The appointee will be expected to share responsibility for the delivery of high-quality care to the patients presenting to the Department.
The provision of high-quality care in all clinical settings, including theatres, outpatient clinics, wards, and working well as part of a multidisciplinary team
To support the clinical decision making of resident medical and nursing staff
To provide on call support out of hours. To attend the department out of hours as per agreed protocols
2. Professional Development, Education and Training
To participate in the training of a subspeciality trainee in Gynaecological Oncology
To participate in the undergraduate teaching programme from both the University of Bristol and the newly established Three Counties Medical School
To assist and participate with the development of postgraduate training for doctors in training
To contribute to multi-disciplinary skills training
3. Management and Leadership
To provide medical information for the development of systems appropriate for Trust needs
To participate in departmental consultant and senior staff meetings whilst remaining within the framework of the agreed strategy of the Trust and the department
To attend other departmental, divisional and Trust meetings as necessary
To attend regional and national meetings as necessary
To undertake all work in accordance with Trust procedures and operating policies

The Gynaecological Oncology service covers patients from Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire with a population of approximately 1.4 million.
