We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist to work within our well-established Surrey Heath Children and Young Services team based at Unither House, Chertsey covering the NW patch of Surrey. The Postholder will be responsible for providing clinical input and leadership to our Children and Young Peoples Service clinics.
The successful candidate will work with two other consultants, 2 SAS doctors and Trainees in a multidisciplinary team setting. This is a very good opportunity for a newly appointed consultant, as there is support, mentorship and opportunities for further development.

You would be responsible for providing a diagnostic, assessment and treatment service for children and adolescents with mental health problems within a multi-disciplinary approach to care, promoting high-quality multidisciplinary working and relationships.
On average, A full-time consultant would do 2-3 monthly assessments and holds a caseload of approximately 60 in our service. Patients have a consultant review after 6 weeks of treatment in the team and then every 2-3 months.
You will participate in an emergency out-of-hours rota, providing back-up for junior doctors and professionals in assessing young people seen in A&E.
