Priory Hospital Bristol is looking to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist Male PICU/Medical Director to join the team. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week.

What you'll be doing
As a Consultant Psychiatrist Male PICU/Medical Director, you will be accountable for, but not exclusively limited to, the following areas of responsibility.Lead the recruitment, induction, and probation of doctors in line with company policies, ensuring compliance with training requirements, specialist registration, and practising privileges for visiting consultants.
Oversee medical staff appraisals, revalidation processes, and performance management, taking decisive action on any behavioural or clinical concerns in collaboration with the Hospital Director and HR.
Provide strategic and operational leadership as part of the Senior Management Team (SMT), ensuring healthcare policy, clinical governance, and best practice standards are effectively implemented and maintained.
Ensure effective medical cover across all levels, including robust arrangements for out-of-hours and annual leave, to guarantee safe and consistent service delivery.
Lead on clinical investigations, complaints, and crisis management, working closely with the Group Medical Director and Clinical Director to resolve issues and drive improvements.
Contribute to continuous learning by overseeing complaints, incidents, benchmarking, and service user feedback, ensuring lessons are embedded across the hospital.
Maintain your own clinical caseload, complete mandatory training, and represent the hospital's clinical expertise and innovation with commissioners, partners, and stakeholders.

What you'll bring to the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist with MRCPsych (or equivalent), Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician status, and CCT (or equivalent), who is listed on the GMC specialist register and recognised in their clinical specialty. The ideal candidate will bring at least three years' experience working at Consultant level, with proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams across hospital or community settings. You will have a track record of contributing to service change and improvement at a senior level, supported by strong leadership and influencing skills with a focus on delivering high-quality, innovative, patient-centred care. A flexible and positive team-orientated approach is essential, along with a commitment to values-based and evidence-based practice. Leadership and management training, or a willingness to undertake this, will be expected.###
