Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Consultant Psychiatrist to join our mental health team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in psychiatry with experience in various settings, including inpatient and outpatient care. This role involves providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, developing treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions to patients across diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults with developmental disabilities.

Duties



Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations for patients. Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices. Provide psychotherapy, including cognitive behavioral therapy and psychodynamic therapy. Administer psychopharmacological treatments and monitor medication efficacy and side effects. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care. Engage in crisis management and provide immediate support to patients in acute distress. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Participate in telehealth consultations as needed to expand access to care. Collect data for ongoing quality improvement initiatives within the behavioral health program. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.

Qualifications



Medical degree (MD or DO) with completed residency in Psychiatry. Post-residency experience preferred, particularly in pediatric psychiatry or geriatrics. Proven experience working with children, adolescents, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Familiarity with addiction counseling and PTSD care is highly desirable. Strong skills in patient assessment, intake procedures, and medical terminology. Experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings is essential. Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and mental health counseling practices. Ability to work collaboratively within a clinical team environment while maintaining patient confidentiality.
