. This is a rare chance to build a new service line with the backing of the UK's leading independent mental healthcare provider.
We already deliver high-quality CAMHS services at several other sites - now we're expanding in Chelmsford, and we need an experienced
Consultant CAMHS Psychiatrist
to help us launch and lead this new inpatient ward from the ground up

Multi-disciplinary team includes consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and therapists, all working together to deliver personalised care through a wide range of therapeutic interventions.
The Role:
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As a CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist
,
you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
Serve as Consultant and Responsible Clinician, leading patient care planning and multidisciplinary collaboration across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Assess and manage complex cases, chair MDT/CPA meetings, and liaise with patients, families, and external stakeholders.
Provide clinical leadership alongside the Ward Manager, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organisational standards.
Contribute to governance and quality improvement through active participation in ward, CAMHS, and service development meetings.
Engage in academic activities including teaching, case presentations, audit, research, and ongoing professional development.
Management:
Offering Clinical Leadership in collaboration with the Ward Manager
Ensuring the ward complies with organizational and regulatory requirements
Active participation in ward governance meetings and organizational quality improvement initiatives and service development
Attending Monthly CAMHS governance meetings
Attending regular Outpatient CAMHS MDT meetings and involvement in service development
Academic:
Participating in monthly Academic meetings
Delivering case presentations and teaching
Engaging in audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives
Post Requirements - To be considered for this role, you should have:
MBBS or equivalent Medical Degree and MRCPsych
Full GMC registration with a license to practice
Registration on the specialist register with CAMHS CCT/CESR, along with valid AC Status
Significant experience and knowledge in CAMHS
Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, as well as the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Practice
Commitment to continued professional development
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
