We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Consultant Psychiatrist to join our mental health team. This role involves providing expert psychiatric care across diverse patient populations, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning, with a focus on delivering comprehensive mental health services through inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth settings. Duties
Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations for patients of all ages, including children, adults, and geriatrics.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing psychotherapy (psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy), psychopharmacology, and other modalities.
Provide medication management and monitor patient responses to prescribed treatments, ensuring safe and effective care.
Engage in crisis management to address urgent mental health issues promptly and effectively.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care, including intake procedures and medical documentation.
Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies.
Participate in data collection for quality improvement initiatives and clinical research projects.
Offer specialized care for patients with developmental disabilities, PTSD, addiction issues, or behavioral health needs across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Utilize telehealth platforms to extend services remotely while maintaining high standards of patient care.
Stay current with medical terminology, diagnostic criteria, and best practices in psychiatry to ensure evidence-based treatment.
Skills
Proven experience in psychiatry with a strong background in pediatric psychiatry, geriatrics, or behavioral health preferred.
Expertise in psychotherapy modalities such as psychodynamic therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy.
Experience working with children, patients with developmental disabilities, PTSD care, addiction counseling, or crisis management is highly desirable.
Familiarity with hospital-based inpatient settings as well as outpatient clinics.
Proficiency in medical documentation, medical records management, and data collection tools.
Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to mental health diagnosis and treatment planning.
Telehealth experience is advantageous for providing flexible patient care options.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
Excellent patient assessment skills combined with compassionate communication abilities to foster trust and effective treatment relationships.
