Rural Solutions are looking for experienced consultants to work with forward thinking owners and managers of rural land and property to create remarkable spaces and enterprises which enable people and places to thrive. We help unlock the potential of rural land and property assets to create value for those who own and manage them. By doing so, we create places for people to live, work and enjoy the countryside.

Our Consulting team works with clients to determine the 'art of the possible', to enable decision making and the delivery of strategies, development projects and the creation of new rural enterprises. Our work is research and evidence based and focusses on advice on development, funding, delivery, and operations to support the establishment and growth of rural businesses.

The role



The role will involve delivering consultancy projects for clients seeking advice to make the best use of their land and property assets. As part of a small team, you will have the opportunity to participate in a range of different project types, be part of and lead project teams, build and own client relationships and contribute to business development activity.

Our clients include rural estates, private land and property owners, institutional and public sector landowners, and rural business and leisure operators. Projects cover a wide range of diversification themes from leisure - including visitor attractions, holiday accommodation and rural activities and experiences - to commercial, residential, and sustainable land management.

Duties



To lead consultancy projects focussed on defining and setting strategies and delivery plans for the management and development of rural land and property to host rural enterprise.

To undertake research, compile evidence and appraise this to inform advice and guidance to clients.

Project leadership and delivery - leading the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects and undertaking research and analysis and producing high quality reports and presentations.

Project management - undertaking project management tasks either as a project leader or part of a project team.

Client relationship management - developing and maintaining client relationships, dealing with client enquires and identifying and proactively creating and pursuing business development opportunities.

The person



We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic people with proven experience as a management consultant or in rural land and property to join our team.No two projects, or indeed days are the same and for those with a real interest in rural affairs this is a great role with the opportunity to work on a range of projects and clients. Ideally, we are looking for:

An understanding of rural affairs and the issues and opportunities for rural land and business owners.

Proven experience (5 years plus) in business/public sector management consultancy or land and property development or management.

A strategic mindset and analytical approach to undertaking research and evidence-based projects to inform advice to clients.

A proven track record in delivering high quality advice to clients, supported by concise written deliverables.

Exemplary project management skills including scoping and managing workstreams, project planning and communication, budgets, and co-ordination of multiple projects.

Experience of delivering at least two of the following: feasibility studies and options assessments, development appraisals, strategy development, concept development, business planning.

A commitment to the highest standards of client service and relationship management.

Experience in business development, including lead generation and conversion, writing high quality proposal documents.

Experience in leading and managing teams delivering consultancy projects.

Flexibility, creativity, and tenacity.

Experience working with clients in the rural, property and/or leisure sectors would be advantageous but not essential.

Driving license essential. The role will require travel to client sites in rural locations across the UK.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 35,000.00-65,000.00 per year
