Job Summary

Family First Lawyers Ltd is seeking an experienced, self-regulated Consultant Solicitor to work in association with our legal consultancy. This role presents an excellent opportunity for sole practitioners. We are looking for a trusted solicitor to whom we can refer clients who require the assistance of regulated legal support.

The Consultant Solicitor will advise and represent clients directly within their authorised scope, acting in their own regulated capacity. Family First Lawyers Ltd will provide referrals, administrative support, and client coordination where appropriate. The role offers autonomy, flexibility, and the opportunity to grow an independent practice within a modern, client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide legal advice to clients in your capacity as an authorised solicitor, in compliance with SRA rules and professional obligations.

Draft, review, and negotiate legal and court documents as appropriate to your authorised practice.

Conduct negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings where instructed, acting in your own regulated capacity.

Maintain conduct of matters for which you are responsible, including case strategy, advice, and outcomes.

Undertake legal research and remain up to date with relevant legal developments.

Maintain accurate case records and client communications in line with regulatory requirements.

Work collaboratively with Family First Lawyers Ltd and other instructed professionals where appropriate.

Ensure the highest standards of professional ethics, confidentiality, and client care.

Requirements

Qualified Solicitor of England and Wales with a current practising certificate.

Authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Currently practising independently or seeking to do so.

Able to manage matters autonomously.

Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.

Commitment to high-quality legal practice and professional integrity.

Role Status

This role is offered on a self-employed consultancy basis. The Consultant Solicitor is not an employee, partner, or agent of Family First Lawyers Ltd. All reserved legal activities are undertaken by the Consultant Solicitor in their capacity as an authorised individual.

Job Types: Freelance, Zero hours contract

Pay: 150.00-500.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 - 10 per week
