Job Description


We are looking for a highly motivated individual with Subspecialty Accreditation in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery (or equivalent) to join our team and develop our service. Previous experience at Consultant level is desirable but not essential and a willingness and appropriate experience to take on the HFEA Person Responsible role would be valued.

Main duties of the job

A representative job plan summary is outlined below, subject to confirmation of weekly timetables. All job plans will be 10 programmed activities (PAs) initially, including 1.5 essential supporting PAs. Successful applicants will also be encouraged to contribute to additional roles within the service (e.g. educational supervisor, lead roles, governance responsibilities), based on appointment within the Division. This role may also present the opportunity to apply for the role of PR (Person Responsible) for HFEA (Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority) within the Department of Reproductive Medicine. The PR will have the responsibility of overseeing activity within the department to ensure compliance with HFEA licensing conditions are met.

Qualifications and Training

  • MRCOG or equivalent
  • Registered on the GMC Specialist Register or be eligible for relevant CCT or equivalent within 6 months of interview.
  • Subspecialty Training in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery, or Equivalent

  • Higher Degree (PhD, MD)
  • HFEA Person Responsible Entry Programme

  • Experience in management of fertility problems at a tertiary level
