Role purpose / summary
Lead and manage the implementation of UK payroll systems, ensuring they meet client requirements.
Provide guidance on the configuration of payroll software for UK clients.
Advise clients on payroll best practices, focusing on efficiency and compliance with current UK payroll regulations.
Collaborate with clients to define payroll business requirements and translate them into system configurations.
Manage payroll system migrations and upgrades.
Payroll Processing and Compliance:
Support clients in understanding and adhering to the complex UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, National Insurance, statutory benefits, and pensions.
Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time, meeting statutory deadlines.
Provide support in preparing payroll-related reports, such as payslips, P60s, P11Ds, and other statutory returns (e.g., RTI, Auto-enrollment).
Ensure compliance with the latest HMRC guidelines and updates, making sure clients' payroll practices are compliant.
Training and Support:
Train clients' HR and payroll teams on system usage and payroll-related functionality.
Offer ongoing support and troubleshooting for payroll system-related issues and queries.
Provide end-user training on payroll processes and software, ensuring they understand and adopt new payroll systems and practices.
System Testing and Troubleshooting:
Conduct thorough testing of payroll system configurations to ensure accuracy and system functionality.
Work with technical teams to resolve any payroll system issues or system errors.
Provide post-implementation support, assisting clients with any issues and optimizing system configurations.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare documentation for clients detailing payroll system configurations, best practices, and payroll processes.
Generate and analyze payroll reports, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of payroll trends, tax changes, and statutory regulations in the UK.
