Content Creator

to join the Explode team - someone who lives and breathes trends, can shoot with an iPhone like a pro, and knows how to craft content that's as effective as it is eye-catching.

We explode brands into the future of marketing! From our Birmingham Colmore Row HQ, we deliver high-impact social media management, content creation, influencer events, and bespoke digital campaigns.

Role Overview

As a Content Creator at Explode, you'll work closely with our content and account teams to create high-performing social content, from planning and shooting to editing and delivery. You'll be hands-on with visuals, video, trends, and storytelling, playing a key role in how our clients show up online.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Editing

Design static and carousel content using

Canva

(Adobe Suite is a bonus) Edit short-form video content using

CapCut

(or similar), optimised for Reels, TikTok and Shorts Build on-brand visual assets that reflect each client's tone, identity and objectives Repurpose content across formats and platforms, adapting for each channel

Pre-Production, Production & Shooting

Plan and prepare for content shoots (storyboarding, prop lists, shot planning, styling) Capture high-quality content using primarily an

iPhone

, with occasional

camera-based

shoots as needed Film behind-the-scenes, tutorials, trends, product features, and branded content Ensure good lighting, framing and audio where relevant - studio or on location Collaborate with the team to execute campaign concepts creatively and efficiently

Caption Writing & Scheduling

Write engaging, brand-aligned

captions

tailored to audience and platform Schedule posts using tools like

Meta Business Suite

, or

TikTok Scheduler

Maintain content calendars and support timely delivery across platforms

Trend Spotting & Ideation

Keep on top of TikTok/Instagram trends, viral audio, creators and niche moments Bring fresh, reactive ideas into team brainstorms and content plans Support creative development for campaigns and monthly content strategies

Reporting Support

Assist in collecting and interpreting performance data (views, saves, shares, etc.) Help analyse which content types are landing and adapt creative accordingly

What We're Looking For

Experience in a

content creation

or social-first role (agency or brand side) Skilled in

Canva

,

CapCut

, and fluent across platforms like Instagram, TikTok & YouTube Shorts Confident filming and directing

iPhone content

, with working knowledge of cameras a plus Great eye for framing, lighting and movement Strong copy skills -- from witty captions to CTA-led posts Organised, detail-focused and able to manage content across multiple clients Naturally trend-aware and plugged into the social and cultural landscape
