Purpose
To support and assist the Business Development & Marketing department to attract and engage supporters via various digital content and video both online and various media outputs onsite. To help towards Colchester Zoological Society's mission of providing a first-class experience for all its visitors and at the same time further understanding and respect for animals.

Role Description
This talented videographer will play a key marketing role in this small but busy team to ensure the charity engages with supporters keeping them informed with all that's happening at the Zoo as well as at conservation projects it supports. Ultimately helping to attract visitors to the Zoo and keeping the charity at the forefront of people's minds by creating exciting, informative and engaging content at a high standard.
This member of staff will be enthusiastic, passionate & have excellent communication skills. This position requires someone who can work efficiently under pressure with excellent videography, photography and editing skills. They also require a creative brain to bring new and exciting ideas to the team.
This member of staff will be required to collaborate with colleagues across departments to create content. They will need to assist those in front of the camera by directing what is required but with patience and understanding. They will be responsible for obtaining all the footage required to complete each content story.
Content proposals must be made to their line manager for approval prior to filming, editing and publishing. Approval process must be followed before any footage is published.
This role may develop in time with the view of the future requirements of the Charity and particular importance of focus on fundraising.

Role Responsibilities
Creating digital content proactively and reactively
Arranging meetings with various departments to gather content
Capture high quality videography and photography
Editing video and photos ready for publishing online and to various online applications as well as use within presentations
Adding computer graphics, captioning and special effects to footage at edit
Filming video on set and on location
Working creatively with the marketing team to plan content
Advising on required equipment to fulfil responsibilities
Maintaining filming and photography equipment
Setting up and taking down cameras, microphones, lighting, props and other equipment following advice and guidance from relevant teams
Preparing "B" rolls for various events and promotions
Keeping content up to date, fresh and relative
Performing market research
Assisting with marketing content to help populate publications and online marketing material
Marketing to both B2C and B2B audiences
General office duties and administrative duties
Other Responsibilities:
On occasion you may be required to assist the marketing team with the following duties;
Assisting to maintain & manage the Zoo's social media channels
Assistance with scheduling social media posts
Updating and administering the website and app via CMS
Updating and scheduling digital screens via CMS portal
Completing performance analysis of content shared

Knowledge and proficient use of post-production techniques using Adobe Suite

Passion for wildlife and conservation
Experience in filming and editing footage at a high quality and professional level
Proficient in using variety of camera equipment

Qualifications in film, photography and editing

Qualification in broadcasting and cinematography

Working Hours
This is a fulltime position offering 40hrs per week
As CZS is open 7 days a week, although it will not be a requirement to work every weekend, the successful candidate will be required to be flexible to be available to work during school holidays, public holidays, weekends and occasional evenings.

Evaluation
For the first five months of employment, the jobholder will be asked to complete a one month, three month and five month self-assessment. This will gauge their feelings of the job and assess their progress towards meeting targets.
