We are seeking a skilled and motivated
Design Assistant
to join our growing digital marketing agency based in St Albans. We specialise in social media and website builds for construction and trade businesses and require a designer who can help bring our clients' work to life with clear, engaging and consistent visuals.
This permanent, part-time position is well suited to someone who is looking to apply and develop their skills across a variety of brands and formats within a collaborative and supportive team.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for producing social media graphics on Canva using a combination of client-supplied imagery and your own designs, working in line with existing brand guidelines. Most of the work will be digital but there may occasionally be opportunities to create printed materials or branded collateral.
You will not be client-facing but you'll have access to all content and assets provided by clients. You'll work closely with one of the company directors, who leads the content creation side of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Create social media posts / graphics for multiple client brands using Canva
Work within established brand guidelines to ensure consistency and quality
Support with other ad-hoc design tasks as needed
Design branded materials such as brochures, flyers, signage and other digital/print assets
(Desirable but not essential)Create short-form video content or Reels using supplied imagery and footage
Required Skills & Experience
Proficient in
Canva
Good understanding of visual layout, balance and brand consistency
Strong attention to detail and a positive, adaptable attitude
Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
Willingness to learn and apply feedback constructively
Fluent in English, with strong written comprehension to ensure accuracy in spelling and grammar across all design work
Desirable but Not Essential
Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator or other design software
Basic video editing or motion graphics experience (eg. CapCut)
Interest or experience in the construction or trades sector
