Work type: This is a permanent role working full time between a working window of 8:00am-6:00pm Monday to Friday







We have an exciting opportunity for a Content Designer to join the Customer Experience team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Content Designer to join our Digital Experience team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, writing, and optimising content for Yorkshire Water's website, with a dual focus:




Encouraging customers to self-serve effectively and confidently online Creating clear, accessible, and empathetic content to explain the range of services we offer and how we support our customers




You'll work closely with user researchers, digital designers, product owners, and subject matter experts to ensure our website content is useful, usable, and reflects the Yorkshire Water brand values.





The primary focus of this role is content for Yorkshire Water's website but you may also be asked to support with a new initiative to introduce a chatbot that can help solve customer queries.




What skills are we looking for?






Proven experience in content design, content writing, or digital copywriting, ideally in a public-facing website environment Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with an ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and experience working within agile and multidisciplinary teams Demonstrable experience turning complex, technical, or regulatory information into clear, engaging web content Knowledge of digital accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.2) and best practices for inclusive online content Experience using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and conducting user research to inform content decisions Awareness of SEO principles and the ability to optimise content for search Confident in stakeholder management, with strong collaboration and communication skills Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards



It would be beneficial if you have -






Experience in best practice for conversational AI design including how to structure website knowledge for AI Experience designing content for the utilities, public sector, or regulated industries Understanding of brand management and experience translating brand values into digital content Experience working on projects aimed at supporting vulnerable or diverse user groups Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, or web publishing tools
