The role within Bower
The
Content & SEO Executive/Manager
will play a central role in Bower's marketing team, combining
content strategy and creation with SEO expertise
to drive measurable growth.
This role is ideal for a creative and strategic individual who can create engaging, compliant content across multiple channels while ensuring it is fully optimised for search engines and aligned with our brand's growth objectives.
The role's core focus is to:
Drive high-quality organic traffic
to Bower's websites through targeted SEO strategies.
Create compelling, compliant, and engaging content
across web, email, social media, and video channels to connect with audiences and drive conversions.
Build and maintain a cohesive content strategy that enhances Bower's online visibility and customer engagement.
This is a highly collaborative role that involves close coordination with the Head of Digital Marketing, the compliance team, ICTS, and a range of external partners - including digital PR specialists, creative teams, and development agencies. The successful candidate will play a key role in aligning digital initiatives with regulatory standards, brand strategy, and technical infrastructure, ensuring seamless execution across all touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Strategy
Develop and manage a content calendar to deliver consistent, high-quality content across multiple platforms.
Create and optimise engaging content for web pages, blogs, guides, and lead-generation materials.
Develop compelling
email marketing campaigns
, including newsletters, nurture journeys, and automated workflows that support customer retention and acquisition.
Produce engaging
social media content
, including graphics, short-form videos, and thought-leadership posts to grow Bower's online presence.
Support in planning and creating
video content
, such as explainer videos, customer testimonials, and campaign assets, working with internal teams or external production partners.
Ensure all content adheres to FCA compliance standards while maintaining a clear, customer-friendly tone of voice.
Write clear and actionable content briefs and manage external copywriters, designers, or agencies where needed.
SEO Strategy & Execution
Conduct keyword research to identify content and optimisation opportunities for both short- and long-term growth.
Optimise website content, metadata, internal linking, and technical elements to improve search visibility and user experience.
Collaborate with developers and IT to identify and resolve technical SEO issues.
Lead on-page and off-page SEO initiatives, including outreach and link-building strategies with reputable sources.
Manage Bower's
local SEO presence
through Google My Business and Bing Places.
Stay ahead of SEO trends, algorithm updates, and competitor strategies to ensure Bower remains competitive.
Performance Measurement & Reporting
Monitor and report on content performance across web, email, and social media channels.
Use tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEMrush to track key metrics including organic traffic, engagement, and conversions.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations for improving content effectiveness and ROI.
Regularly benchmark against competitors to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
Personal Specification
Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills with the ability to create engaging and compliant content for a regulated audience.
Proven experience managing content across
web, email, social media, and video formats

A creative thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals and their integration into content strategies.
Exceptional organisational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Collaborative and initiative-taking, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Role and Skills Requirements
3+ years of experience in a content-focused role with strong SEO knowledge, ideally within a commercial or regulated industry.
Experience working in financial services or other compliance-led sectors (advantageous but not essential).
Proficiency with key SEO and analytics tools: Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Google Keyword Planner.
Strong knowledge of content management systems such as WordPress.
Experience with
email marketing platforms
(e.g., Brevo, Mailchimp, HubSpot, or similar).
Experience creating or commissioning
video content
for marketing purposes.
Familiarity with social media platforms as well as use of the various management and scheduling tools.
Experience with video creation.
Relevant certifications in SEO, content marketing, or digital marketing (e.g., Google, HubSpot, Semrush).
