We are growing our in-house marketing team and are looking for an experienced Content Writer who will play a key role in shaping and delivering our content strategy and how we use content to attract, inform and convert customers across both brands. This role is ideal for someone who loves crafting helpful, engaging content but also enjoys thinking strategically about how content supports SEO, improves user journeys and drives commercial results.

Role Overview



As our Content Writer, you'll own the full content production cycle - from planning and researching through to writing, optimisation, publishing and performance review. You will work across both 247 Blinds and 247 Curtains to create high-quality, SEO-driven content that attracts, educates and converts customers.

This role combines hands-on content creation with strategic involvement in our overall search and content direction. You will produce SEO-optimised content across blogs, guides, categories, product pages, email and other channels, ensuring all copy is engaging, accurate and supports our customers at every stage of the buying journey. You will also take an active role in developing and supporting our holistic search strategy, helping shape how customers discover our products and ensuring content across all platforms is cohesive, on-brand and commercially aligned.

This is a hybrid role combining content creation and content strategy, ideal for an ambitious writer ready to step into a more strategic position.

Key responsibilities



Content Strategy Ownership


You will help shape and drive the strategic direction of content across both websites and in partnership with channel managers.

Responsibilities will include:



? Contributing to the business's holistic search and content strategy, ensuring content supports SEO growth, customer needs, wider product and marketing activity and commercial goals.

? Ensure content is cohesive, consistent and on-brand across all channels, including website, blogs, guides and support content, email, social media and video.

? Identify new content opportunities through keyword research, content gaps, trend analysis, customer insights and competitor monitoring.

? Support the creation of content pillars, topic clusters and internal linking structures.

? Supporting the development of a long-term content roadmap for growth that aligns with both organic search goals and commercial priorities.

? Ensure every content piece serves a clear purpose - visibility, education, inspirational, navigational or conversion-focused.

Content Creation & Optimisation


? You will produce high-quality, SEO-led content across a variety of formats, including:

? Category and filter page content that communicates product benefits, enhances keyword rankings and helps customers navigate product ranges.

? Blog posts covering advice, inspiration, buying tips, product trends or comparisons and evergreen topics.

? Instructional buying and how-to guides with informational content and clear step-by-step explanations.

? FAQs blocks and customer-help content based on search insight, customer queries and UX needs.

? Email copy for newsletters, trend updates and informational campaigns.

? Product descriptions that are engaging, accurate and optimised for SEO.

? Audit and optimise existing content to improve clarity, relevance, user experience and search visibility.

? Update metadata, internal linking, formatting and content structure in line with SEO best practice.

? Conduct regular reviews of content performance to identify optimisation opportunities.

? Ensure all published content remains accurate, relevant and aligned with current SEO and commercial priorities.

Content Management & Publishing


? Upload and format content in the CMS with attention to readability, brand voice and SEO.

? Maintain the content calendar and ensure coordination across teams.

? Review site analytics, rankings and behavioral data to support content decisions and strategy discussions.

? Collaborate with design, SEO, product and the wider marketing team to ensure alignment and strong cross-channel storytelling.

Internal Content Projects


? Support the refinement of internal content processes, including briefing workflows, sign-off and content request procedures.

? Contribute to building a clear content delivery roadmap for internal teams and agency partners.

? Work cross-functionally to ensure content supports the wider customer experience, from search through to purchase and post-purchase guidance.

Skills & Experience



Essential



? 3+ years' experience in content writing, SEO content creation or a similar editorial role.

? Strong understanding of SEO best practices and how content contributes to search performance.

? Proven ability to write engaging, accurate and user-focused content across multiple formats.

? Excellent keyword research, SERP analysis and optimisation skills.

? Experience writing content for B2C ecommerce, interiors or home improvement brands, specifically soft cloth, would be hugely beneficial, although not absolutely essential.

? Strong organisation and time management, with the ability to balance multiple priorities.

? Confident making edits and uploading to CMS platforms.

? Confident using keyword tools and analytics dashboards, such as Keyword Planner, GA4, Google Search Console and similar keyword ranking tools.

? High attention to detail and strong proofreading skills.

Desirable



? Familiarity with cross-channel content (social, email, video).

? Understanding of CRO and UX writing.

? Experience collaborating with graphic designers and the wider marketing team.
