You will play a key role in delivering efficient business solutions and improving the student experience by participating in business process improvement initiatives and maintaining critical systems, such as SITS, the Attendance Monitoring System, and the ASK (student enquiry system).

Collaborating closely with the senior SITS developer, you will maintain, develop, and configure SITS functionality. Your responsibilities will include providing ongoing support, advice, and training to staff and students on key systems to streamline RGU's business processes, ensuring reliability and user satisfaction. You will also troubleshoot and implement enhancements for these key systems in coordination with various stakeholders.

You will have experience with academic support systems like SITS, the Attendance Monitoring System, or ASK. You should be skilled in data collection, and have experience in creating operational and user guides. We seek a proactive individual who can build strong relationships with stakeholders, possesses analytical and organisational skills, and can effectively prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.

PURPOSE OF POST:



This role focuses on delivering efficient business solutions and enhancing the student experience at RGU by actively participating in business process improvement initiatives and maintaining critical systems, including SITS, the Attendance Monitoring System, and ASK (student enquiry system).

The role involves working with the senior SITS developer to maintain, develop, and configure SITS functionality. Responsibilities include translating user needs into technical requirements, automating processes, integrating and migrating data, managing data tables, and supporting system upgrades.

The role holder will work with team members, business owners, IT Services, and external consultants to provide ongoing support, advice, and training to staff and students. This collaboration aims to maintain and streamline RGU's systems and business processes, ensuring reliability, user satisfaction, and an enhanced student experience. They will also liaise with various stakeholders to support, troubleshoot, and implement enhancements for these key systems.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:



Work alongside the senior SITS developer to maintain, develop, and configure SITS functionality which includes automating system processes, integrating data, migrating data, managing data tables, and supporting system upgrades. Continuously support staff and students in using key systems like SITS, the Attendance Monitoring System, and ASK, ensuring service and user expectations are met. This involves creating and maintaining documentation, procedures, and training materials as needed. Identify system issues and work collaboratively with staff, students, developers, and external consultants to troubleshoot problems and enhance system functionality. Conduct data analysis, participate in process mapping, and interpret data to improve system performance. Prepare and present reports based on findings when required. Develop and implement test plans to ensure that system changes perform as expected. Document SITS configurations, follow change management processes, and monitor the release of new SITS versions. Facilitate training sessions for users of key systems such as SITS, the Attendance Monitoring System, and ASK. Collaborate with external suppliers to arrange training when necessary.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS



Qualifications and Professional Memberships



First degree or equivalent work experience.

Knowledge and skills



Comprehensive understanding of SITS software, including data structures, tables, and core functionalities. Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills for working with developers, system users, and external consultants. Proficient in using Office 365. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines. Strong analytical skills for process improvement initiatives.

Experience



Skilled in data analysis and process mapping to enhance system efficiency and generate actionable insights. Proficient in developing and executing test plans, documenting configurations, and tracking software releases. Familiarity with academic support systems such as SITS, the Attendance Monitoring System, ASK, or similar platforms. Experienced in providing user support and training for complex systems, with expertise in troubleshooting, documentation, and creating training materials. Skilled in data collection, input, and import/export processes. Experienced in creating and maintaining operational and user guides. Proficient in end-user configurations, security, and access management. Effective collaboration and partnership experience.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS



Qualifications and Professional Memberships



Degree in Computing, Business Information, or equivalent.

Knowledge



Familiarity with advanced SITS configuration and customisation, including automation, data integration, and migration. Knowledge of related systems such as the Attendance Monitoring System, CELCAT and ASK for student support and monitoring. Proficiency in SQL or Power BI for data analysis, reporting, and trend identification. Understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile)

Experience



Experience working with internal teams and external consultants to resolve issues and enhance system functionality.
