About The Business



Pembrokeshire Creamery Ltd (PCL) have invested 12.5 million in constructing a liquid milk bottling centre in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire which has been in commercial operation since 2nd July 2024. The centre is a 3,000 square meter facility that has the capacity to bottle a million litres of milk per week and will supply major supermarkets across the whole of Wales with Welsh milk. We are the only BRC Standard facility to offer Welsh Milk which is also bottled in Wales. This will reduce food miles, increase supply chain efficiency, and support local farming and communities. As we continue to grow the business, we are needing to expand our team and share new and exciting opportunities.

The Role



We are looking for a proactive Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer to join our Engineering team at our busy milk bottling facility. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast- paced, high volume environment and has a passion for operational excellence, problem solving and project work. Opportunities like this are few and far between in Pembrokeshire and we are excited to have a role like this within Pembrokeshire Creamery Ltd.

As a Continuous Improvement Engineer you will be responsible for driving process optimisation, efficiency and quality improvement initiatives throughout processing and bottling operations. This position supports operational excellence by reducing waste, improving yield, enhancing equipment reliability and promoting safety and sustainability through data driven problem solving and lean manufacturing methodologies.

You'll Be Responsible For



Analysis of production data from pasteurisation, homogenisation and bottling lines to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities

Lead initiatives to increase throughput, reduce product loss and optimise equipment utilisation

Support the standardisation of operating procedures and best practices across all processes and production lines

Facilitate and Implement Lean/Six Sigma projects (S,SMED, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping

Conduct root cause analysis on downtime, yield loss and quality issues

Partner with cross functional teams to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)

Work with the onsite technical team to ensure CI activities align with HACCP, GMP and other food safety standards

Minimise process variation affecting product quality

Support improvements in CIP (Clean-In-Place) efficiency and sanitation effectiveness

Develop and maintain performance dashboards and KPI's

Perform time studies, process mapping and capability analysis

Use statistical tools to validate and sustain process improvements

Train and coach factory team members in Lean and problem solving tools

Promote a culture of health and safety, food safety and continuous improvement

What you'll bring to the role



Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field)

3-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably dairy, beverage, process or food processing)

Proven experience implementing Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma or TPM principles

Background in dairy process, bottling/filling or packaging operations is preferred

Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills

Proficient in process mapping, OEE tracking and root cause analysis tools

Excellent communication and facilitation skills

Working knowledge of PLC, SCADA or MES systems

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 40,000.00-45,000.00 per year
