We are part of the Express Engineering Group who employ more than 300 employees across the two companies, Express Engineering (Gateshead) and Express Engineering (Fabrications) (trading as QA Weld Tech).

We are currently seeking a Contract Engineer experienced in mechanical or manufacturing engineering to support the management of orders through internal and subcontract processes to achieve successful on time, in full delivery to our clients.

To be successful in the role of Contract Engineer at Express Engineering, you will be:

Experienced managing the full Project and Contract Management cycle utilising strong communication and organisational skills. Experienced working in a commercial environment within the manufacturing engineering industry. A strong team player working in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, continuously developing and maintaining working relationships. Confident in a customer facing role at a contract management and technical level.

The main duties of the Contract Engineer include:

Project Management

Managing orders through internal and external processes, from material delivery, through production machining and subcontract processes to successful client delivery.
Progress Reporting

Production of updates regarding order progress, from order placement to delivery, to ensure achievement of 100%, on time delivery.
Customer Contact

Main point of contact with key client representatives within your client base providing: Efficient information sharing from the client to Express Engineering commercial & production teams and from Express Engineering to the client as necessary. Effective representation of Express Engineering during client meetings via conferencing facilities, or face to face at Express or client facilities.
Systems

Assist in maintaining and developing commercial and production business systems and reports.
