The Role
We're seeking an experienced and motivated
Contract Manager
to take full operational and financial responsibility for a multi-site logistics operation.
You'll lead drivers and site teams, manage costs and compliance, and ensure that service levels are consistently met.
This role requires a confident, adaptable leader who can perform under pressure and communicate effectively at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day delivery operations across multiple sites
Take full financial ownership including weekly P&L and wage reporting
Manage driver rosters, holidays, and ensure adequate cover for all routes
Build and maintain a pool of reliable drivers to avoid route disruption
Reduce reliance on rental vehicles through owned or owner-driver routes
Ensure full compliance with transport, driver hours, and safety standards
Conduct regular site visits to maintain strong communication and consistency
Analyse performance and implement cost-saving and efficiency improvements
Recruit, train, and support drivers and operational staff
Drive controlled growth by expanding routes and potentially opening new centres
Requirements
Experience in logistics, parcel delivery, or transport contract management
Strong leadership and people management skills
Excellent financial understanding (P&L, cost control, budgeting)
In-depth knowledge of transport compliance and driver regulations
Calm, adaptable, and decisive under pressure
Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational reporting
CPC qualification (National or International) desirable
Full UK driving license required
