Job Description

We, TLT have an urgent requirement for a Contract Secretary to join the Public Inquiries Inquests Public Law Team at TLT in London. The role will be on an initial 3 month contract and will be paid a day rate via an Umbrella Company.


Due to the urgency of the role, we are looking for candidates with a notice period of 2 weeks or less and are able to attend the TLT office in London on a full time basis.


Your Role




As a Contract Secretary your day to day remit includes:


Supporting the team by carrying out all secretarial and administrative tasks. Diary management ; arranging internal and external appointments and, making arrangements for meetings; booking meetings rooms or external venues as required. Proof reading, amending and house styling legal reports and non TLT documents. Managing a busy inbox, escalating important emails and drafting responses.

Your Skills and Experience




Proficient experience in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel are required. Exceptional prioritising/organisational skills. Strong ability to self-manage a large workload in a busy team. Confident in delegation of work when necessary.

The Public Inquiries Inquests Public Law Team at TLT has a wide breadth of experience on all aspects of inquiry work. We represent central government, non-departmental public bodies, local government, high-profile individuals, blue light services and the private sector.


The team provide a full legal service. This includes advising individual key witnesses representing public bodies, private individuals and acting on behalf of inquiries themselves. This breadth of experience and knowledge allows the team to deal with all aspects of public inquiries and provides a unique perspective. On top of our legal advice, we are able to provide support to an inquiry secretariat. We can provide project management, budget advice and administrative support.
