About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Contracting Regional Manager - East
to join our Contracting Division based in Newmarket, Suffolk. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for the day-to-day regional operations and administration functions of the regional contracting division, ensuring the region runs smoothly and efficiently in accordance with the company's policies, processes, and procedures.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic operational leader to drive regional performance, manage budgets, develop teams, and strengthen client relationships across the East of England region.
Key Responsibilities
Regional Management
Work with the Consulting Regional Lead to provide timely and accurate regional planner information to the Operations Director
Collate, maintain and provide regional BI and KPI information including pipeline, WIP, SLA, invoice projections and forecasting
Hold weekly meetings with regional project managers to understand caseload, identify problems and ensure effective project delivery
Manage regional client, homeowner, and contractor complaints, escalating to the Operations Director where necessary
Manage regional budgets to accurately project cash flows and effectively manage regional finances
Identify and highlight potential areas to improve financial efficiencies
Ensure administration tasks within the contracting division are completed routinely and on time
Act decisively to cover emergency works and customer complaints, keeping all parties informed
Health and Safety
Consider health and safety during all stages of a project lifecycle
Ensure staff work in a safe manner and observe the company's health, safety and environmental rules and procedures
Set an example of safe behaviour, particularly to new starters and junior staff
Staff Management
Manage staff to maximise productivity, chargeability and efficiency through proactive management, mentoring and training
Highlight resource availability or shortages to the Operations Director
Provide technical support to regional and technical leads with project reviews and technical issues
Deliver staff training and mentoring to ensure works are completed in accordance with quality systems and standard operating procedures
Authorise staff purchase orders to provide spend control and enable project delivery
Ensure all contracting staff are appropriately trained and competent to fulfil their job roles
Review and identify opportunities for improvement through increased staff training
Commercial Skills
Demonstrate financial and market awareness, guiding staff to save costs and improve company competitiveness
Strengthen and maintain client relationships to ensure successful continuance of business operations regionally
Proactively fulfil client development duties and manage, develop and understand client requirements
Instil SEED core values and establish a culture of continuous business improvement
Influence and promote collaboration between consulting, contracting and financial departments
Communicate effectively with consulting Operations Director and Group Quality and Compliance Manager to deliver operational excellence
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience in regional operations management within contracting or construction environments
Strong financial acumen with budget management experience
Excellent leadership and people management skills
Ability to demonstrate self-starting ability and inspire teams
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, analyse and interpret challenges effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging with teams, senior management, subcontractors and clients
Ability to organise, plan ahead and prioritise work effectively
Experience managing operational changes based on sound planning and resource management
Desirable:
Experience in insurance restoration or environmental services sector
Understanding of health and safety compliance in contracting environments
Track record of business development and client relationship management
