Contractor and Works Controller

seeking a rare opportunity to shape how we deliver contractor management and health and safety compliance across our South East operations? Are you excited by the opportunity to collaborate with a strong engineering team who care about quality, safety and innovation?

Your role

You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring we meet CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations, reviewing contractor and internal risk assessments, issuing permits and driving high standards in health and safety culture.

You will take ownership for, influence and shape systems, develop best practice and bring a new perspective to a business that is keen for new ideas.

Mainly based at the Port of Sheerness, you will also provide support to Chatham Docks and the Port of Great Yarmouth as required, though likely to be on an infrequent basis.

What you'll bring

You will have:
A solid background in

Civils, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Knowledge and experience of Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, PUWER, LOLER and PSSR Familiarity with

permit to work systems

and

accident reporting

Experience in

heavy industrial environments

such as ports, construction, manufacturing, or maintenance

IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General/Construction

certificate Ideally, a

CITB SMSTS

qualification
