growth and success.
Position Overview
The Contracts Manager (CM) is ultimately responsible for the overall health, wealth & safety of the project. The CM is visionary of how a contract will be created, implemented, and managed to the successful completion. The CM will be the leader for overall positive approach to influencing the direction of the project in both words and actions.
Position Duties:
Actively support the GV Health and Safety Program and all actions specific to meeting annual H&S goals and objections:
Create and/or choose a team for the contract to successful execute the goals by understanding each team members' strengths and weaknesses. Making sure that the team comes together and works effectively and efficiently.
Control contract execution by monitoring contract performance via a Schedule/Programme of works. Identify what do you and the client truly want. Ensure this is maintained monthly and reported on correctly utilising the GV reporting templates. This Schedule must remain updated and maintained for each contract.
o Including resourcing plan, staffing needs, field operative needs, roles and responsibilities
o Also including contract milestones, KPI targets and metrics to review status.
o If required recovery plans will be implemented.
Work with Head of Procurement to generate a procurement schedule for each contract and ensure that the right terms and conditions are setup to support the contract operation and business needs.
o It will be key that this schedule includes key timelines and details on how these support the Contract operations.
Develop a Technical Submittals list to support accurate procurement and to ensure contract compliance for all aspects of the contract.
Monitor and maintain the Variations Log for each contract. Ensure that all works undertaken that are outside of the base contract/tendered scope are captured and submitted for compensation in line with the contract.
o Review and develop the Variations log for each contract at contract award to ensure the process is known and details for each contract.
Manage and Oversee project documentation to ensure details are accurate, confirmed as issued for construction/Status A and support the operation of the contract.
Responsible for project cost control.
o Review the estimate,
o Identifying specific areas of risk.
o Identify area of opportunity to improve the contract margins.
Monthly Forecasts and budget updates.
Bi-Weekly operations meetings on contract performance and upcoming needs/requirements.
Creation of a goal tracker for each role on the team to measure performance and success to ensure continued professional development.
o Responsible to ensure timely submission and accuracy of contract billings.
Contract Close Out:
o Responsible for contract closeout to the client and to all subcontractors. Completion of all necessary contract documents and handovers to support this and obtain total completion. Implement warranty plan and identify timelines for retention release.
Responsible for staff, subcontractor, supplier management to ensure HSEQ performance in line with business policies and contract specifications and to ensure a positive working relationship.
Leadership
Coach, Motivate and envelope the contract team for succession planning.
Allocate staff to meet short-term work requirements. Assign/Schedule work to ensure continuity of workflow.
Identify and resolve conflicts within project teams.
Establish standards and ensure they are met
Monitor and formally appraise employee performance.
Recommend and implement performance improvement plans if required.
Responsible for actions such as hiring and promotions
Review and recommend training and development programs for direct reports.
Qualifications
:
Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Management, Engineering, or a related field is beneficial but not essential.
Experience: 5-10 years of experience in contract management. Experience in construction
NVQ Level 4 in Site Supervision
Full UK Driving License
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and must hold NVQ level 4 in site supervision
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Proficient in using digital survey tools, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
