Casey
Rochdale, Greater Manchester
Full-time, Permanent
We are currently recruiting a Contracts Manager with a background in special projects & public realm works.
Who are we looking for?
We're looking for an experienced and highly organised Contracts Manager - with a background in civil engineering, specifically special projects and/or public realm works - to oversee the successful delivery of a large-scale public realm project based in Stretford, Greater Manchester. This scheme includes earthmoving, stream diversions, drainage upgrades, garden improvements, and the installation of brand-new high-spec paving and footpaths. The works also involve the refurbishment of two key buildings: an old barn set to be transformed into a leisure, hospitality, and retail hub, and a historic town farm which will undergo a full programme of upgrades and modernisation.
As Contracts Manager, you'll take ownership of this project from pre-construction through to completion. You'll be responsible for programming and planning works, managing budgets and resources, leading site teams, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. A key part of your role will be liaising with clients, local authorities, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure the projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ Level 7 in Civil Engineering, and bring a strong technical and construction background, along with commercial and contractual awareness. You'll be confident in leading, supporting, and motivating site teams, with excellent people management and communication skills.
Well-organised and proactive in forward planning, you'll be able to anticipate potential issues and develop practical solutions to keep projects on track. Strong analytical skills, sound judgement, and a common-sense approach to operational challenges are essential. Above all, you'll take pride in delivering high-quality outcomes while maintaining a professional image and prioritising customer satisfaction.
