The Contracts Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of our construction business.
This position is responsible for ensuring that processes run smoothly and efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong supervisory skills, with a proven ability to manage teams effectively and drive performance improvements and be able to update and estimate on the live works.
Duties
Supervise and manage all aspects of our planned and reactive works.
Lead, motivate, and develop a team of production staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Monitor production metrics and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular audits and training sessions for staff.
Collaborate with other departments to coordinate production activities and resolve any operational issues.
Maintain accurate records of production activities, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance schedules.
Identify opportunities for process optimisation and implement best practices across the facility.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage teams effectively.
Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
Organise materials and arrange labour for all works
Manage quality and liaise with stakeholders via email and updating site reports
Surveying and quoting works
Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a manufacturing context.
Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions to improve operational performance.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
Your Role:
As a Contracts Manager, you'll oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet budget and quality standards. You will be the primary contact for clients and subcontractors, managing expectations and fostering strong relationships.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Implementing project plans and monitoring on-site progress
- Managing health and safety compliance
- Coordinating multiple projects simultaneously
- Collaborating with Estimators and Quantity Surveyors on variations
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 5 years' experience of contract management in multi disciplines
- SSSTS and SMSTS
- IOSH certificate
- NVQ L2 in Site Supervisory / Management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and strong IT skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Full UK driving license
- Repair, voids, complex works, damp and mould and planned works experience desirable
