About the role:




To support our continuing growth, we are recruiting a Commercial Contracts Manager as part of our Business Development team, either in Nottingham or Montreal. The Contracts Manager will support a broad range of contract support activities that the team provides to the wider company. The role-holder will play a pivotal part in the business to enables us to deliver exceptional Life Science research for our broad range of domestic and international customers.


Role Responsibilities:



Liaise with customers regarding the negotiation, drawing-up and facilitating the design of robust commercial agreements. Build and maintain effective business relationships with customers and internal stakeholders ensuring alignment with the company's goals, policies and industry regulations. Negotiate contracts with customers regarding content, scope, and effective delivery, identifying risks, develop solutions and strategies. Provide advice and guidance to colleagues on the scope and nature of customer contracts. Support the department with the full contract life cycle, including developing and administering internal processes and contract template improvements. Mitigate risks and liability exposure for the business in line with company policies and obligations. Provide commercial and contract awareness training to the business when necessary. Provide post-contract management support.

Skills & Qualifications:





Degree in a relevant subject such as Business, Law, or Life Sciences is desirable. Experience in commercial contract management, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of agreements. Strong understanding of commercial contract development, intellectual property (IP) processes, SLAs, SOPs, and service delivery - ideally within a regulated sector. Proven experience in negotiating contracts and managing customer relationships. Demonstrated commercial acumen, particularly in complex, multi-customer environments. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships. Highly developed planning and organisational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities. Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail. Excellent negotiation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Relevant experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or drug discovery/development sectors is desirable but not essential.
