Job Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented Contract Manager to oversee and manage contracts within our organisation. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and negotiation skills, with a background in project management, particularly in the construction sector. This role role would suit a junior or developing contracts manager who can demonstrate excellent organisational abilities and effective communication skills to ensure all contractual obligations are met while fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.

A company vehicle will be provided for travel between sites.

Duties



Manage the entire lifecycle of contracts from initiation to completion, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Negotiate terms and conditions with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to achieve favourable outcomes for the organisation. Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of all contractual obligations. Coordinate resources and manage sub-contractors and other trades to ensure effective and timely delivery of projects. Monitor contract performance, identifying any issues or discrepancies and implementing corrective actions as necessary. Maintain accurate records of contracts, correspondence, and documentation using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Conduct regular inspections to benchmark quality and produce sign-off sheets, ensuring all work meets our high standards. Adhere to and enforce all company and HSE guidelines on-site, including welfare arrangements and site security. Provide leadership and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability. Assist with raising monthly valuations and the reporting on project status to the company director.

Requirements



Previous experience in contract management or a similar role within the construction industry is highly desirable. Strong management skills with the ability to lead teams effectively. Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiations. A solid understanding of construction techniques, materials and processes. Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines. Strong time management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders. A valid UK driving licence is required to travel between sites as required. A commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
