Hours: Monday-Thursday 08:30-17:15, Friday 08:30-16:00 On-Site
Contract Length: Initial 6 Months
Rate: 40.00 - 45.00 per hour
Our client deliver complex control system integration projects across the UK. They are looking for a Lead Project Engineer/PLC Programmer to join the team and lead the delivery within the water sector.
The Role
They are currently seeking a Lead Project Engineer/PLC Programmer with strong expertise in PLC programming, particularly using Allen Bradley (Rockwell Automation) platforms, to join their dynamic and growing project team. They will play a vital role in delivering industrial automation solutions, supporting the development of PLC-based control systems.
Key Responsibilities

• PLC programming using Rockwell/Allen Bradley platforms (e.g., RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000).

• Provide technical expertise and support to project teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle.

• Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development.

• Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and health and safety regulations.

• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality control system solutions.

• Produce clear and accurate technical documentation and specifications

Required Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience with PLC programming, ideally Rockwell Automation / Allen Bradley platforms.
• Proficiency with tools such as RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, and associated HMI/SCADA systems.
• Strong understanding of industrial automation and control systems.
• Excellent documentation skills and the ability to write clear, accurate technical specifications.
• Strong communication and team collaboration abilities.
• Full UK Driving Licence and eligibility to work in the UK.

Additional Requirements

• EUSR and Thames Water Passports: Please let us know if you already hold these. If not, we can provide training.
• Rockwell Automation Certification: Ideally, candidates will hold a valid Rockwell course certificate. If not, we are open to sharing the cost of this training (1-day course, approx. 500) on a 50/50 split basis. This is a valuable certification to enhance your CV and future opportunities.
