Controls Electrician
\xc2\xa327k to \xc2\xa331k DOE
07:30 to 16:45 hours Monday to Thursday (45 minutes unpaid break at 12:30 hours)
07:30 to 12:30 hours Friday
25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

Our client is a market leader in the manufacturing of machinery, based down in Dorset.

They currently require a talented Controls Electrician.

The Controls Electrician core role is the panel building, wiring and / or the installation, wiring and commissioning of electromechanical machines.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • All panel building and wiring - working from electrical drawings.
  • Installation of electrical panels into machines.
  • Machine wiring, termination to electrical panel.
  • Undertake electrical tests, safety check and complete appropriate documentation.
  • Assist, where required, with other tasks within the Controls Department, such as physical wiring inspections, installation checks, machine testing, etc.
  • Supporting a culture of continuous business improvement.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to the company\'s Health and Safety policies.
Core requirement for the Controls Electrician are:
  • Time served apprenticeship OR suitable gained experience in an electrical assembly role.
  • At least 2 years of experience of panel board population, AND / OR
  • Machine wiring and testing of complex electromechanical machines.
  • Ability to read and follow electrical circuit drawings.
  • A good understanding of electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Knowledge of different voltage systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical control panel.
  • Familiarity with Automated production machinery or other similar capital equipment
Skills and qualities required for the Controls Electrician;
  • Systematic approach to their work with attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and curiosity with willingness to learn and apply themselves to areas with which they are not familiar.
  • Desire to improve and develop their area of work.
  • Able to work effectively with people across departments and shop floor staff.
Desirable but not mandatory;
  • Formal Electrical / Electronic Engineering Qualification (e.g., apprenticeship) - would be advantageous but not essential if have appropriate experience.
