Job Description

Controls Engineer required. My client is an Engineering Service Provider managing large contracts predominantly for FMCG sites across the UK. Due to an increase in business, they are currently looking to recruit a Controls Engineer. The successful Controls Engineer will ideally hold an Electrical Engineering degree, HND or HNC preferably alongside 17th Edition qualification. You will be experienced in PLC Controls Development skills using Siemens or Allen Bradley, will ideally hold Safety qualifications (e.g. IOSH Managing Safely) and be based locally to Bristol.

Controls Engineer Position Overview

• Costing projects in terms of materials and labour and producing quotations for Controls projects
• Producing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for projects
• Writing detailed Functional Design Specifications (FDS) from customer User Requirements Specifications (URS)
• Configuration of control system architecture and network connections
• Production and modification of PLC / HMI / SCADA Controls
• Installation, modification, retrofit, commissioning and fault diagnosis of control panels and associated process equipment
• Supervision of electrical employees and subcontractors in food production environments
• Project budget, resource and timescale control and management

Controls Engineer Position Requirements

• Qualified in Electrical Engineering, Degree/HND/HNC or equivalent
• Ideally have 17th Edition wiring Regulations City & Guilds 2382 and Inspection and testing City & Guilds 2392
• Conversant in the use of PLC Controls Development (Allen Bradley / Siemens)
• Conversant in the use of HMI / SCADA Configuration (FTView / Wonderware)
• Ideally have Electrical design experience including AutoCAD / EPlan or equivalent Controls knowledge
• Ideally have a safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely
• Based within a commutable distance of Bristol
• Full Clean driving licence

Controls Engineer Position Remuneration

• Salary \xc2\xa345,000 - \xc2\xa355,000 DOE
• Bonus Scheme
• 45 hours a week spread across office meetings, site visits and home working, no set routine
• \xc2\xa34000 Car Allowance
• 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays
• Pension
