Situated on the Rotherwas Industrial Estate in Hereford, it has an annual turnover of around 16m and employs over 120 members of staff. It currently operates five printing presses as well as six extruders and three slitters.'
'Summary'
'We are seeking a dedicated Conversion Operator to join our manufacturing team at Alfaplas Ltd in Hereford. In this role, you will be instrumental in operating and maintaining our printing presses and extrusion equipment, ensuring high-quality production that aligns with our company's standards and values.'
'Responsibilities'
You will be responsible for operating and maintaining conversion equipment that transforms raw or semi-finished materials into finished goods. This includes setup, monitoring, troubleshooting, and quality checks to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Operate conversion machinery according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
Set up and calibrate machines for specific production runs, including material loading and parameter adjustments.
Monitor production output to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency.
Perform routine maintenance and report mechanical issues to maintenance or engineering teams.
Conduct visual and manual quality checks on products to ensure they meet required specifications.
Follow health and safety protocols, including the use of PPE and proper handling of materials.
Assist in process improvement initiatives to enhance machine uptime and product quality.
