Key Responsibilities
Manage a full caseload of residential conveyancing transactions, including:
Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
Transfers of equity
Remortgages
Shared ownership and new builds
Liaise professionally with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other third parties
Draft and review legal documents including contracts, transfer deeds, and completion statements
Order and review property searches and raise enquiries as needed
Carry out title checks and report findings to clients and lenders
Handle exchange of contracts and oversee completion
Deal with all post-completion requirements including SDLT returns and Land Registry applications
Maintain up-to-date records using the firm's case management system
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and firm-wide policies
Person Specification
Essential
Minimum 2 years' experience in a residential conveyancing role
Ability to manage a full caseload with minimal supervision
Strong knowledge of conveyancing procedures and the legal framework
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
Clear and confident communication with clients and stakeholders
High attention to detail and accuracy
IT literate with experience using case management software
Desirable
Qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer, Solicitor, or Legal Executive (CILEx)
Experience with leasehold, new builds, and/or Help to Buy schemes
Familiarity with HM Land Registry and SDLT systems
Local knowledge of the property market (if location-specific)
