Baines Bagguley Penhale Solicitors is an established independent law firm offering high quality legal services across residential conveyancing, family law, wills and probate, and commercial property.

BBP are lucky to work with some amazing estate agents, and they have built some fantastic long-lasting relationships with them. The majority of their clients have been with them for decades, and often they deal with multiple generations! BBP are looking for someone who will love their clients as much as the existing team does.

With locations in Lancaster, Kendal and Morecambe, they are now looking for a new Conveyancer to join them from their Morecambe office. This role is open to hybrid working, with up to 2 days per week from home.

So, what might a typical day look like?



A morning check in with the team, making sure everyone is okay and checking to see if anyone needs to collaborate You might spend some of your morning checking your emails and booking any client meetings in for the following days / weeks In the morning you will likely spend time reviewing your caseload, seeing what needs to be completed urgently and if there is anyone you need to chase After reviewing your case load and completing any client communications, you then might spend the rest of your morning, conducting title checks and preparing contact packs At lunch you might head out for a walk to take a break from your screen, or if in the office you might spend some time with colleagues After lunch you might have some client meetings to attend, these could be in person at the office, or on Teams depending on what the client prefers! The rest of the day might be spent liaising with estate agents and lenders, and handling post completion tasks such as SDLT submissions and Land Registry applications
BBP is a small team that fosters a culture of collaboration so you might also have the opportunity to get involved with other complex cases when help and support is needed.

So, who might be an ideal candidate?



Someone who has been a Conveyancer for a number of years and is now looking to settle down into a small but supportive team Someone who is closer to the start of their conveyancing career with some experience, but is now looking for that next step in a team that can help foster their growth Someone who has worked for a larger organisation and has maybe been a little bit 'pigeon holed', and now wants the opportunity to take control of the entire transaction including title checks, enquiries and post completion work
We're open to chatting with people from a range of backgrounds, as long as you are a great communicator, highly organised, super process and structure driven, and someone who values offering a diligent, calm and professional service.
