A Conveyancing Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting legal professionals throughout property transactions. Their responsibilities encompass administrative tasks, client communication, and ensuring the smooth progression of conveyancing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support:
Assist conveyancers by managing correspondence, scheduling appointments, and maintaining organized files.
Document Preparation:
Prepare and review legal documents related to property transactions, such as contracts, transfer deeds, and mortgage agreements.
Client Liaison:
Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updates, addressing inquiries, and ensuring a high standard of client care.
Search Coordination:
Conduct property searches, including title searches and local authority searches, to gather necessary information for transactions.
Post-Completion Tasks:
Handle post-completion procedures, such as submitting Stamp Duty Land Tax returns and registering properties with the Land Registry.
Compliance:
Ensure all activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies, including anti-money laundering procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
Prior experience in a conveyancing department or legal setting is advantageous.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with clients and professionals.
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in document preparation and data entry.
Proficiency in using case management systems and other relevant software.
Understanding of conveyancing procedures and legal documentation.
This role demands a proactive individual who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that all conveyancing transactions proceed smoothly and clients receive exceptional service.
Salary: 25,000 - 30,000 depending on experience (opportunity to increase this after 6 months subject to performance.
