Job Summary

We are seeking a Part time cook for a friendly Abbeyfield home for the elderly(Independent living) , with Thirteen residents

Two-three days a week Hours 09.00 -14.00 (lunch served at 13.00)

16.00-18.00 (tea served at 17.00)

all menus are planned with the manager

12.21-13.90 per hour

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients and cook meals according to established recipes and standards Assist in the presentation and garnishing of dishes to ensure visual appeal Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations Follow all food safety procedures, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices Support the team during busy service periods by efficiently managing meal preparation tasks Ensure that all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet customer expectations Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed Collaborate with team members to uphold high standards of hygiene, safety, and customer satisfaction

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen environments Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team Previous experience in a restaurant or catering setting is desirable Serving experience is beneficial but not essential; willingness to learn is important
