We are seeking a passionate and skilled Cook to join our Cafe. The ideal candidate will have experience in meal preparation in a fast paced kitchen and food safety, with a strong understanding of kitchen operations in a restaurant environment. As a Cook, you will be responsible for creating delicious meals that meet our high standards of quality and presentation, while ensuring a safe and efficient kitchen.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus. Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and standards. Assist in the planning of menus, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.

Skills

Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant setting. Strong knowledge of meal preparation, cook to order and food safety practices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. A passion for culinary arts and creativity in food presentation. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
