Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients and assist in the cooking of meals according to established recipes and standards Ensure all food is prepared safely, adhering to food safety regulations and hygiene practices Assist with meal presentation and garnishing to ensure visual appeal Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising work surfaces Follow all safety procedures during food preparation and handling Support team members during busy periods to ensure timely service delivery Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages

Requirements

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or a culinary environment is required Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices Experience working in a care home or catering setting is required Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail Good organisational skills and ability to follow instructions accurately Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends and evenings if necessary A genuine interest in culinary arts and customer service excellence
