12.60 per hour

Holiday: 24 days pro rota including Bank Holidays

We're looking for a talented Cook to join our welcoming team at the Neuro Therapy Centre, where your culinary skills will help support adults living with neurological conditions and their carers.

About the Neuro Therapy Centre



We provide a range of services to adults with long-term neurological conditions such as MS, Parkinson's, FND and Fibromyalgia - offering tailored physical therapies, emotional support, and a friendly community environment. You'll play a vital role in helping us provide nutritious and delicious meals to support the wellbeing of our service users.

The Centre is at an exciting time in developing its services and facilities. The next stage of our plans is to expand our cafe facilities which are at the heart of our Centre's social space.

Your Role



As Cook, you'll take the lead in preparing and delivering high-quality meals that cater to a variety of dietary needs and preferences, including special diets for health, allergies, and lifestyle choices.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Creating and preparing hot and cold meals and snacks from scratch Maintaining high food hygiene and kitchen safety standards Collaborating with support staff and volunteers for smooth meal service Managing inventory, ordering supplies, and receiving deliveries Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations including HACCP Training and supporting kitchen volunteers Supporting themed menus and seasonal celebrations
We're looking for someone who is:

Organised, proactive, and passionate about food A team player who can also work independently Calm under pressure with great communication skills Empathetic to the needs of our service users and committed to high standards of care

What You'll Need



Essential:



Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment Excellent cooking skills and attention to detail Understanding of food safety, labelling, stock rotation, and allergen requirements Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Desirable:



NVQ Level 1/2 in Catering & Hospitality First Aid and Health & Safety training (including COSHH) Experience working with vulnerable adults or in a care/community setting Awareness of neurological conditions and the role of nutrition in managing them
