Job Description
The Mill cafe - one of Lurgan's most respected food establishments - is seeking an experienced Cook to take control of our delicious brunch menu and manage all areas of food production and prep.
Our Brunch menu includes classics such as cooked breakfasts, French toast, avocado toast, pancake stacks and much more. We want someone with ideas to take us to another level.
We are looking for someone who is passionate and committed and who will help grow this business.
We want someone reliable who genuinely cares about their job and the business they represent.
Duties:
- Prepare and cook a variety of brunch dishes according to our menu specifications
- Ensure quality and presentation with every dish
- Run a clean and organised kitchen
- Adhere to safe catering and hygiene protocols at all times
- Collaborate with other food areas to streamline operations and maintain efficiency
- Order and manage stock
Essential criteria:
- Previous experience working as a cook/chef in a busy cafe or restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices
- Relevant culinary qualifications are advantageous
- Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong communication skills
- Team player
- Good temperament
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
