This job is in a Care Home and the role would be 3 days per week, with every other weekend off and supporting with holiday cover. You will be cooking for 18 residents.

As one of our highly valued cooks you will:

Assist in the preparation and provision of the meals provided. Be responsible for the day to day running of the kitchen ensuring compliance with relevant Health & Safety and Food Hygiene requirements. Prepare and cook meals and snacks following pre-set menus in accordance with Health & Safety Regulations to ensure meals are nutritious, appetising, and meet dietary needs. Undertake simple stock control, reporting goods to be ordered to the Ensure adequate supplies are maintained. Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, equipment and surrounding areas is maintained to a high level. Attend training courses as required Must have knowledge and experience of working in a kitchen. 1 year experience preferred.

Purpose of Position

To prepare and cook a balanced, nutritious diet within a controlled hygienic environment.

To control systems of food allocation to minimise wastage.

To operate and ensure all purchases are controlled within a specified budget.

Principal Responsibilities

To control stocks and purchases, thereby allocating the quantities of materials.

To keep the purchase of materials within allocated budgets.

To maintain a balanced diet and varied menus.

To be aware of the care users' needs and dietary preferences.

To consult with residents, and regularly review menus ensuring choice and a variety at each mealtime.

To ensure that all training needs are met, within the requirements of current legislation.

To maintain the kitchen equipment, as specified by respective manufacturers.

To ensure that all kitchen is cleaned after use and, at the end of each shift, leave the kitchen in a clean and hygienic state.

To actively contribute to the preparation and cooking of food and the cleaning of the kitchen area.

To perform other such reasonable duties as may be required.

Working Hours & Base

Based in Kingswinford

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: 12.60 starting - to be confirmed at interview

Working hours: 7:30am- 14:30pm. Food shopping will need to be completed.

Working days: Monday to Sunday with every other weekend.

Educational / Professional

Qualifications

1. Basic Food Hygiene certificate or Hold NVQ or QCF Level 2 in a relevant equivalent field.

2. 1years experience of working in a similar role Knowledge of Health and safety in the

4. Knowledge or relevant legislation relevant regulations

Experience

1. Experience in kitchen-based
