Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food preparation and possess a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality meals to our residents while ensuring adherence to food safety standards. This position requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties



Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menu specifications. Assist in the planning and preparation of daily menus in collaboration with our residents, ensuring that all meals are nutritious and appealing. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during meal service periods. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as necessary. Help train new kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety practices.

Skills



Proficient in food preparation techniques with a strong understanding of culinary principles. Knowledgeable about food safety practices and regulations within a care home environment. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation and presentation. Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues in the kitchen. A passion for cooking and commitment to meet the individual dietary requirements of our residents.

Pay: 13.50-14.50 per hour
