Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team in the role of a Cook. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in food preparation and kitchen operations within a traditional pub environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in meal preparation, ensuring food safety standards are met, and contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests. Prior experience in food service or culinary settings is preferred, but enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are equally valued.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing ingredients and cooking dishes according to established recipes and standards Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces Follow food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times Support the business in using social media for presentation of the food to ensure high-quality service and gain pride for our dishes. Help with stock rotation, inventory checks, and restocking supplies as needed Collaborate with the general staff to ensure smooth operation during busy periods Contribute to a welcoming environment by providing excellent service to colleagues and guests.

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or pub/ restaurant environments is desirable Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours Strong organisational skills with attention to detail Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing priorities within the kitchen/ pub setting
