Berkeley Scott Recruitment is currently seeking a nursery cook for an ongoing weekly booking with our client near Edinburgh city centre. Pay rate for this role is 316.50 per hour with weekly payments made directly into your bank account. The working hours are Monday Friday, 8am 2pm and the site is easily accessible by public transport.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook healthy, balanced meals and snacks for up to 150 children
Plan weekly menus in line with dietary guidelines and allergy requirements
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene (in line with Food Hygiene Rating and Environmental Health requirements)
Manage kitchen stock levels, ordering ingredients as needed within budget
Work closely with nursery staff to understand childrens dietary needs, allergies, and preferences
Keep accurate records of food temperatures, cleaning schedules, and allergen information
Requirements:
Previous experience as a chef or cook, ideally in a childcare, school, or healthcare setting
Knowledge of child nutrition and portion control
Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 (Level 3 desirable)
Awareness of allergen legislation
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A passion for healthy cooking and working with children
