Kitchen Assistant / Cook

Hours: minimum 21 hours per week

Pay: 13.50 per hour

The Role

We're looking for a flexible Kitchen Assistant / Cook to join our friendly catering team. This is a hands-on role where you'll mainly support with food preparation, kitchen hygiene and service - but you'll also have the opportunity to step up and cook when needed, particularly to cover holidays or busy periods.

Key responsibilities:

Assisting with food preparation, plating, and service.

Cooking simple dishes to a high standard, following our recipes and menus.

Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and safety.

Washing up, stock rotation, and general kitchen support.

Supporting cafe service during busy times.

Providing cover for cooks/chefs during holidays or absence.

About You

At least 1 year's kitchen experience (essential).

Confidence to step into a cooking role when required.

Positive, can-do attitude and good communication skills.

Flexible and reliable, with a team-focused approach.

Understanding of food safety and health & safety standards.

Contract & Hours

Permanent, part-time contract.

Minimum 21 hours per week, with the flexibility to increase hours for holiday and sickness cover.

Most shifts between 8am-3.30pm.

Weekend and bank holiday working required, occasional evening work.
